Sunshadow 3000N I the movie
Sunshadow 3000N: the standard in style and functionality
The Sunshadow 3000N series constitutes our basic range of high-quality indoor screen fabrics. Available in 15 color shades and 5 'openness factors'.
Here you see the screens with openness factors 10, 5 and 2%.
Always a suitable Sunshadow
Why that openness factor or OF matters? "It's a percentage that indicates how tightly the fabric is woven," says Stephan Martens of Solaye Fabrics. "The lower the OF, the less light the fabric lets in and the less see-through you have to the outside. Sunshadow's 3000N range is available with openness factor 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10%."
Privacy? Go for 1% OR
OK, so a lot of openness factors, but what does that mean in practice? That's what the videos show. You see the same canvas each time, in the color dim grey. Only the OR differs. "If you choose 2%, you barely have any see-through," says Stephan. "And 1% even gives no see-through at all in practice. Even if it's dark outside, that guarantees you the necessary privacy."
10% OR: light and transparency
A fabric with a 10% openness factor is much more transparent and lets in plenty of natural light. Excellent for a north-facing facade.
Of everything: 5% OR
A compromise between the two, that's a screen fabric with an OR of 5%. With both see-through and a degree of privacy, while providing good sun protection. The best choice for a south-facing facade. A fabric of 3% offers slightly less see-through.
And these are the screens with openness factors 1, 2 and 5%.
Black, white and everything in between
And let's not forget color. Stephan: "A white cloth repels heat best, but you can hardly see through it during the day. A darker cloth has the opposite properties. In addition to white and black, we also offer numerous shades in between: linnen, sand color, gray ..."
"With us in Belgium and in Northern Europe, customers are more likely to choose pearl gray, while in Southern Europe they more often go for beige. A question of tradition and taste. Although white and black are still the most sold."
