Why We Stick with Ø50 mm Suction Cups

‍

Suction cup mounting offers a clean, drill-free solution for glass surfaces. But could the suction cups be smaller and more discreet? We put it to the test.

We compared three combinations:

> Ø50 mm suction cup + 50 mm hem
> Ø40 mm + 40 mm hem
> Ø30 mm + 30 mm hem

‍

The result was clear: the Ø50 mm combination kept the fabric noticeably flatter and smoother. Smaller suction cups and hems caused more folds and distortion, and one Ø30 mm suction cup even came loose.

The reason? A larger suction cup distributes the pulling force over a wider area, while the 50 mm hem provides greater edge stability.

That’s why Ø50 mm suction cups
with a 50 mm rim remain our standard.

For best results, start at the four corners and position the remaining suction cups evenly and symmetrically. The final spacing is adjusted to fit the dimensions and proportions of each screen.
